placed rookie center DeSagana Diop on the injured list.

The Memphis Grizzlies waived veteran center Isaac Austin, who has been on the injured list 
since February 14 with tendinitis in his right knee.

The Miami Heat placed forward LaPhonso Ellis on the injured list and activated rookie 
forward Malik Allen.

NBC Sports vice president Kevin Sullivan announced that Tom Tolbert will appear on its 
NBA studio show ``until further notice'' to replace Jayson Williams, who was charged Monday 
with second-degree manslaughter
